Why you should pay for porn posted on 2nd April 2021

They say that the best things in life are free, but when it comes to porn, the best things are most certainly not free!

Paying for porn used to be the norm. Films were made by production companies, DVDs were produced and sold to consumers. But then came the internet, and later smart phones, meaning that anyone, anywhere can access more or less anything they would like to watch online. With tube sites, torrents and streaming the whole industry changed, allowing people to watch porn for free meant that some consumers just never paid , and to some extent the perception of the value of it changed. Who pays for porn? Why would you when it's free?

And therein lies the problem. Plenty of porn is available, some of it pirated, and watched for free. Tube sites are the most popular porn sites. Xvideos boasted more than 4 billion hits in one month back in 2012. In 2016 Pornhub has 23 billion hits. And remember, on these sites you may not be paying, but someone is getting paid for your clicks.

A quick search on Reddit of 'why do you pay for porn' brings up threads such as :

'Those who pay for porn, why do you pay for porn?'
'Why do you pay for porn, when you can get it for (f)ree on here? No judgment, just curiosity...'

And amusingly - 'Why do you pay for porn when you can just look in the mirror after taking a shower?' - as far as self love goes I am living for this one...

In all seriousness, when reading these threads I was pleasantly surprised to find so many people recognising why they should pay for porn, although I by no means think that the majority of people even use Reddit, much less comment on these questions... But the Redditors did give voice to some of the most important reasons that you should be paying for whatever it is that rocks your boat.

'If nobody paid for porn, there would be no porn.'
'I think it's like music. You can just go find it somewhere for free as opposed to paying for it. But some people buy it out of respect for the artist...'

Yes. Production costs and the hardworking teams of talent behind them deserve to get paid. Basically, paying for porn supports the industry so if you ever want to see new material, you need to support the filmmakers and performers. Beautifully shot scenes with great performers rely on a huge team of talent to make the magic happen.

Plenty of magic happens in this hot threesome scene with Bishop Black, Nat Portnoy and Kali Sudhra...

And if shoddily shot amateur videos are more your thing then be sure that you're still paying because videos can end up on popular tube sites without the permission of the participants. Not nice. There are now so many options online to watch all sorts of different genres and to suit all budgets so take pride in the fact that your viewing is supporting the creators.

'Because if you have a niche fetish that isn't mainstream, there are plenty of women and producers whom take custom requests, or have already done a similar request.'
'Favourite stars full work, better quality, membership perks, catalogue of videos that don't get taken down.'
'I imagine the same reason why I pay for Netflix. I cannot be bothered to spend my time searching for good quality movies across several streaming sites or torrent sites. Not when I can have a damn good collection of my favourite movies and shows all in once place, and nicely organised into genres and all HD quality, all for a small monthly fee.'

Yes. When you pay for porn you literally get what you pay for. A slick website, proper search options, access to any niche that you want at the click of a button, along with no pop ups and safety.

Paying for porn supports the safety of the performers as well as helping smaller, more innovative companies to produce content. Paid for porn sites have allowed feminist porn companies to grow and put out inclusive and unique films. You are motivating an industry to keep trying to make a better product by respecting and paying for that product. The more you pay for the porn that you want to see, the more you'll see of that. So along with supporting your favourite performers and creators you are ultimately ensuring that more of your favourite content is produced.
