What's your sign? Exploring Astrology and sexual preferences...

Whether you think that astrology is a load of nonsense, or you fully believe in divine ordering, not many people are able to resist a look at their horoscope. Even if it's in a jokingly 'ironic' way, we are all human and I do believe that anything which causes us to question or explore ourselves and our reality is a positive. 

I recently decided to look more in depth at my chart so I found out the time of my birth to find out more about my birth chart - Your starsign is actually just your Sun sign, we have a whole chart with many other meanings in, including your moon sign, your rising sign and a sign for each of the planets in our solar system. This means that your horoscope gets much more accurate and you can explore your personality and possible desires more. I found my chart to be very accurate...

Of course we can be prone to attach importance where maybe there is no need for it, or to view personality traits or events through the lens of suggestion. If you have ever experienced a magician performing mentalism you may be aware of the power of suggestion, misdirection and cold reading that people can use to give the appearance of mind reading.

Is reading your horoscope much different? If read that you are going to meet a tall dark stranger, not only is that a pretty broad statement, but now you will no doubt be on the look out for tall dark strangers, making it more likely that this statement will come true. Which came first, the horoscope or the stranger? 

A quick google of 'is astrology real' comes up with the result 'If you're asking if astrology is real, you're missing the point' which I think, neatly sums up the point - real or not, does it matter? If it's leading to self exploration and thoughtfulness I'm in, especially when it comes to understanding myself and others on a sexual level.

Aries (20th March to 19th April)

Aries are known as some of the most passionate and fiery people you will meet. These impulsive Rams like things fast paced and are always up for a challenge. Physically this sign rules the head, so if you have an Aries partner why not try a head massage to get them in the mood..

Taurus (20th April to 20th May)

This Earth sign are recognised as both determined and stubborn, but also truly patient and gentle. They are a sensual sign and being ruled by Venus, associated with love and beauty, as well as their patience means that they like to take their time.. Always a bonus in the bedroom! Look out for the neck as their erogenous zone.

Gemini (21st May to 21st June)

Ah the twins, Gemini's have quite the reputation for being restless, mischievous and sometimes having multiple personalities. Ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, they can be intellectual and love to talk and text. They're playful, and like lots of foreplay. Gemini rules the arms so try a gentle massage in this area.

Cancer (22nd June to 22nd July)

Cancerians are intuitive and nurturing and love to feel needed and protected. This sign is ruled by the moon, they need deep intimacy and to feel safe before they can be comfortable. Cancer rules the hands to this sign will love to be caressed and held.

Leo (23rd July to 22nd August)

Enthusiastic and passionate, a Leo bedmate loves to feel loved, needed and admired, which makes sense as generally they love to be the centre of attention in any situation. Their charisma and presence mean that they attract lovers easily. This Sun sign rules the heart and spine, so experiment with tracing your fingers down their back.

Virgo (23rd August to 21st September)

The word Virgo may being up ideas of innocence and chastity, but you would be wrong to assume this means Virgos aren't very sexual - this sign can be fixated on sex! Known to be methodical souls and perfectionists, this analytical attention to details can make Virgos great at whatever they turn their minds to, including sex. The stomach can be an erogenous zone for them.

Libra (23rd September to 22nd October)

These charming and coquettish beings are ruled by Venus, and are some of the most sensual people you can meet. They love to be surrounded by beauty, are very sociable and love to flirt. The ruling of Venus means that they are turned on aesthetically. Caress their lower back to find their most erogenous zone.

Scorpio (23rd October - 21st November)

Scorpios are known to be full of desire and passion and are extremely sexual beings. You can't ignore the magnetism and sexual energy of a scorpio! However they also yearn for a deep emotional connection. The can often be into kink as they need to explore their passionate yearnings. Unsurprisingly, the groin and sexual organs are ruled by this sign.

Sagittarius (22nd November to 21st December)

Sagittarians are adventurous, optimistic and enthusiastic, all traits that they bring into the bedroom. These spontaneous thrill seekers can often be into experimenting as they thrive on variety. Public trysts may also be on the menu, the thrill of discovery can be irresistible for this sign! The hips are their erogenous zone.

Capricorn (22nd December to 19th January)

This Earth sign are known as the hardest workers in the zodiac, they are determined, cautious and sometimes reserved in public, however in private Capricorns are passionate characters. Aquarius (20th January to 18th February)

Aquarians are visionaries, intellectual free spirits who believe in freedom and love.
