How To Squirt

Over the course of 18 months an online survey questioned 320 women from all over the world about female ejaculation. 78% of women said that squirting enriched their sex life. The study concluded that 'perceived female ejaculation--and its onset--occurs in women of all ages. Most women who ejaculate do so on a regular basis. Female ejaculation is an enrichment of the sexual lives of women as well as their partners.'

With an endorsement like this, I think that squirting is something that should be on the menu for any woman who wants it. As controversial as squirting is, it says quite a lot about science that in 2020 we still haven't fully sorted out female sexual physiology. Given that squirting references are found in fourth-century Taoist texts you would assume we know more about it.

If you looked at porn, literature and medical journals to educate yourself on sex you would see a big difference in the portrayal of sex for straight, cisgender men and the portrayal of sex for women. For the men things are pretty simple and agreed. For women, things are confusing - their sexuality at times has been indicative of mental illness, and even to this day demonic possession. They are expected to be anything and everything, one dimensional beings there just for the man's pleasure, sex crazed vixens, innocent girls and conversely powerful femmes to be feared. Really this confusion comes back to the taboo around women's sexuality.

Here at JoyBear we are committed to breaking down stigmas and educating on all things pleasurable, and with between 10-50% of women currently being squirters, it is most definitely something that should be talked about. Experts say that certain women are 'natural ejaculators' but that all women may be capable of it. Many women have described the feeling of release that accompanies the experience of ejaculation as incredible, given that the urethra is full of nerve endings it makes sense.

So how can we learn to squirt? Here are some steps to try out...

1. Set the scene. Important as always for the ultimate pleasurable experience. Light candles, use mood lighting, scent the air - anything that makes your space feel comfortable, special and a little bit sexy for you. Think about splash proofing your bed as the concern for 'wetting' your sheets can cause you to hold back from letting go enough to squirt. You can buy specialised waterproof pads or use towels.

2. Give your clit some attention, this will Learn your body, strengthen those pleasure pathways. Check out my previous Orgasmic posts for plenty of ideas...

3. G-Spot time. You are going to need to give this area some prolonged attention. The G-spot is found about two inches in and one inch up inside the vagina, on the front wall (so towards your belly button, not your back) and sometimes feels slightly rougher or more textured than the surrounding flesh. You can use your fingers, a toy, or involve a partner to help by using a 'come hither' motion with their fingers.

4. Speaking of partners... Remember to connect. You can use Tantric techniques such as eye gazing or breathing in unison. Find out more about Tantra for beginners here.

5. Finally - allow yourself to let go. As you are stroking your G-spot, when you feel yourself approaching orgasm, try not to hold back...

I'd love to hear what you think about squirting in the comments or on the JoyBear Twitter.

Stay safe. Have fun. Issy x
